January 2026 Tarot Forecast: Release, Receive & Rebuild
A pause for presence: tarot, reflection, and intentional beginnings for the new cycle.
Happy 2026, divine collective!✨
January feels like the perfect time to pause and recalibrate, not just energetically, but creatively as well.
Over the past year, I’ve been paying closer attention to how I show up in this space, what feels sustainable for me, and what genuinely serves the collective I write for. What I’ve learned is that when I move away from performance and more toward presence, the messages land much deeper and with a lot more clarity… for both me and you.
Because of that, I’m pivoting from how I approach these readings…again!
Instead of weekly forecasts and zodiac-based breakdowns, I’ll now be sharing one collective energy reading per month, grounded in tarot and intuition rather than segmentation. This allows me to sit with the energy more honestly, without rushing or over-pulling, and to offer messages that feel much more lived-in rather than produced.
For my paid subscribers, I’m also transitioning away from zodiac-specific messages and into something more intimate and reflective. Rather than breaking the energy down by zodiac signs, I’ll be sharing a private message each month meant to be received quietly, without comparison or categorization. A space to listen, rather than just interpret.
This year isn’t asking us to do more; it’s asking us to do what feels aligned and true.
So with that intention set in stone, here is the collective energy for the month ahead!
Theme of the Year
Just a little sneak peek😉
Power Deck Card: Truth | 11
“Are you living your truth? Your being is like a spirit lodge. Within this sacred place is your realization and the divine light of your creation. Live in your spirit lodge surrounded by peace and joy. Outside your lodge is the great wilderness where the rest of the world lives. That wilderness can become a battleground stained with the blood of ignorance and earthly pain.
To have lasting power in the world, you must earn the trust of those around you. Most people live without a sacred place within, without a spirit lodge, and they do not know how to enter the spirit lodges of others.
Live within your sacred truth.”
This year carries a strong invitation to set the example by living genuinely and authentically. That may mean giving yourself permission to explore who you are more deeply! Trust is built on truth, and when you live in yours, you naturally show others how to do the same for themselves.
Especially because numerically, 2026 is a 1-year.
We’re stepping into a brand-new 9-year cycle, so yeah… buckle up tight!! The decisions we make now matter a little more than usual because they’re laying the foundation for how the next several years unfold. This is a “set the tone” moment. What you choose to begin, commit to, or walk away from now echoes forward!
There’s also strong Aries energy coming online as we move ahead, especially with Saturn re-entering Aries February 13th. Think initiation, leadership, independence, and momentum. The first spark. The early bird gets the worm energy. The courage to start before everything feels perfectly mapped out.
Saturn here reminds us that this isn’t about impulsive action. It’s about intentional beginnings. Starting fresh, yes, but with accountability. Taking the lead in your own life. Choosing what you’re building instead of drifting.
This is the kind of energy that says: new chapter, new identity, new way forward. The sun is rising again. Let there be light!
The focus is on identity. Building it. Planting seeds. Beginning again, but this time with intention.
Some of us may experience some mystical encounters that shift the trajectory of our paths entirely. Being “prepared” here doesn’t mean bracing for impact; it means continuing to live in alignment with yourself, rather than bending to external expectations and situations. This is how what’s meant for you—the real you—can find you!
Supporting energies point to 2026 also being a year of mastery (Eight of Pentacles). This is strong Virgo energy: choosing discipline, refinement, and devotion to your craft, values, and goals over momentary lapses in judgment (Knight of Pentacles reversed).
This year asks you to put things into practice. To correct mistakes as you go. To commit to getting better over time rather than seeking quick results. Skill development matters here, especially the kind that actually sustains you long-term. Work ethic over flash. Consistency over urgency. Trust that what you’re building is coming together, even if it’s not fully visible yet.
This theme is echoed again through The Magician, the first card of the tarot, which is also associated with Virgo through its Mercurial energy. Together, these cards speak to magnetization: manifestations and miracles born from focus, confidence, and willpower. This is alchemy in motion… using the wisdom gained from past experiences to intentionally create a better future.
There’s also a call to address imbalances and injustices in our lives (Justice reversed), especially where we may have been avoiding accountability or clarity. Emotional regulation and self-awareness play a key role here. Grounding our reactions rather than being ruled by them (King of Cups reversed) allows us to move out of confusion and illusion (Seven of Cups reversed) and into clearer alignment.
From that grounded place, momentum returns. Inspiration reignites! We begin moving toward our dreams, passions, and desires (Knight of Wands) not impulsively, but intentionally. This is about reconnecting with what truly motivates and fulfills us, and allowing our actions to reflect that truth.
Theme of the Month
Power Deck Card: Grief | 19
“Grief deepens you. It allows you to explore the perimeters of your soul. Grief is the only gateway to certain levels of consciousness, and it is a hard task-master. Through grief you can explore every aspect of your dark side-anger, pain, abandonment, terror, loneliness; and these are aspects of the sacred wound that in our daily lives we usually try to ignore. Grief forces you to look at those parts of yourself that are not yet healed. If you can look at grief as a teaching, you will grow. The pain of grief is not the only teacher in this life, but if looked at properly, with awareness and an open heart, it is one of the greatest teachers of all.
The seeds of wisdom and enlightenment are planted within the wounds of grief. What is lost can only come back to us again in higher ways.”
Because January sits at the threshold between cycles, grief naturally comes forward as a theme. Not just grief tied to loss, but grief for what we’re leaving behind…versions of ourselves, expectations, timelines, and identities that no longer fit.
Here, grief isn’t something to move through quickly. It’s a tool. A way of listening more honestly to what has mattered, what has shaped us, and what still needs acknowledgment before we move on. This energy asks us to slow down enough to feel what’s ending, so we don’t carry it unconsciously into what’s beginning.
When we allow ourselves to grieve with awareness, it becomes a form of closure. A way of making space. January invites us to honor what’s been lost or outgrown, not as a weakness, but as part of the wisdom we’re carrying forward.
The Energy Flow of the Month
Tarot Card: Page of Swords Reversed, clarified by Justice
The overall energy of January feels inward and reflective. With the Page of Swords reversed, there’s a pause around communication, mental clarity, and how we process information. This isn’t a month for reacting quickly or jumping to conclusions. Instead, it asks us to slow our thoughts, question our narratives, and notice where misunderstandings may have been shaping our perception.
Justice brings balance and truth into this picture. Together, these cards suggest that clarity comes not from force, but from honesty. January may reveal where we’ve been telling ourselves partial truths, minimizing our feelings, or avoiding deeper accountability. The energy supports self-reflection, ethical alignment, and recalibrating how we relate to our own inner dialogue.
This month favors thoughtful awareness over impulsive speech.
What the Collective Is Being Asked to Do
Tarot Card: King of Wands Reversed, clarified by Ten of Pentacles
January asks us to lead from intention rather than ego. The King of Wands reversed reminds us to pause before asserting authority or rushing into action. This is a month for honest reflection on how we show up in our own power—not just performing it when it doesn’t truly feel authentic. It can also highlight struggles with imposter syndrome, lack of motivation, or passion toward long-term projects, inviting us to explore why certain pursuits no longer resonate.
The Ten of Pentacles grounds this energy, emphasizing long-term stability, legacy, and values-based action. The collective is being asked to focus on what truly matters, committing to choices that sustain growth rather than seeking immediate recognition, validation, or simply acting out of obligation or expectation.
In practice: think before you act, reflect on your intentions, and make sure your steps honor your long-term vision.
What to Be Mindful Of
Tarot Card: Six of Wands Reversed, clarified by Knight of Wands
Recognition and momentum may feel uneven this month. The Six of Wands reversed points to delayed or inconsistent external validation, while the Knight of Wands brings forward energy and the urge to act. The caution here is clear: don’t let the need for approval drive impulsive decisions.
Instead, focus on grounded clarity and aligned action. You’ll feel it in your solar plexus and sacral chakras—the difference between an anxious flutter in your stomach and the warm “lit up” feeling of desire and motivation. One signals nerves, the other alignment. Pause before rushing, choose your steps intentionally, and remember that not every small victory requires external acknowledgment to hold value. True satisfaction is usually built toward, not received as an immediate reward.
January invites you to honor endings and release what no longer serves. Grief and reflection are tools this month—helping you see clearly, step consciously, and leave behind what holds you back.
From that awareness, you can move forward with intention, nurture what matters, and create space for what’s next. This month is less about resolution and more about preparing for new beginnings with clarity and purpose!✨
Before we close January’s reading, I pulled an additional message for those called to sit with this energy on a deeper, more personal level.
It’s especially for those who might feel a little lost this month, unsure how the general energy is guiding them, or wondering where to focus their attention. This section is here to offer clarity, reflection, and guidance on what you’re ready to release and what you can begin to receive.
A Closer Look: The Inner Room🪞✨
What You’re Ready to Release & Receive
Tarot Cards: 4 of Wands Reversed + 9 of Swords Reversed
What I see is a deep invitation to let go of what is no longer supporting you, the foundations that once felt secure but are now holding you back. This might show up as pressure to maintain appearances, perfectionism, or carrying more responsibility than is yours to bear. For some of you, it could appear in relationships where patterns repeat, in career or creative projects that no longer excite you, or in routines that feel heavy and obligatory rather than nurturing.
You can expect old doubts, lingering memories, or unspoken emotions to surface, reminders of what you have been holding onto without fully noticing. Some of you may feel the pull toward solitude, protective routines, or small rituals, whether spiritual, emotional, or practical, to help you honor these endings quietly. This is the work of release: noticing, witnessing, and gently letting go. It is not about losing, it is about making space for what is ready to grow.
Did someone do a manifestation ritual or spell some weeks or months ago?🌚 Because once you have begun to release, what you are ready to receive starts to appear. Guidance, clarity, and unexpected support may come in subtle ways, moments that feel like small magic, synchronistic nudges, or blessings that arrive right when you need them.
For some, this could appear in relationships, creative work, or new opportunities aligned with your authentic path. You can expect inspiration, confidence, and a sense of alignment that feels embodied, not anxious, like that warm spark in your solar plexus or sacral energy centers that I was talking about earlier—the one signaling “yes, this is yours!”.
Lastly, this month asks you to reflect on what your recent choices have taught you and how you can use that insight to move forward with intention. The release helps you move toward what truly matters and reach new heights in the months ahead!
