Learning from the Past, Not Yearning for It
The past can show up like a shadow, flickering at the edges of your mind, or like a vampire, circling, hungry for attention—but it can’t enter unless you invite it in. I’ve noticed how often old stories, old assumptions, and old people try to sneak back into our energy. The mind loves to replay what was, but the heart knows when it’s time to keep moving forward.
I recently added a dream analysis spread to my Etsy tarot shop and decided to put it into practice for myself after having a pretty vivid dream during the 1/11 portal.
The message was clear: curiosity about the past isn’t needed anymore. The restlessness, the looping over old patterns and situations, the “what ifs”—they’re all softening.
The Queen of Wands energy appeared strong—confidence, courage, and power—but paired with cards like the Tower and Ace of Cups reversed, it showed me the rumination that comes when I dwell too much on the past. Trust issues, assumptions, scarcity tactics—these are my energetic vampires and lingering shadows.
But the Page of Wands reminded me that every ending is the start of something new. Emerging dawn. Fresh curiosity, but this time about what’s ahead.
The lesson isn’t in nostalgia or longing. It’s in noticing the patterns, feeling the truths, and letting them guide you without giving them power over your present.
The Hermit and Strength reversed reminded me that solitude doesn’t mean being stuck or alone; it means reflection and and an opportunity for growth. The Two of Swords and Eight of Swords spoke to mental restlessness, but clarified by the Page of Cups and “seek clarity,” they reminded me that clarity doesn’t come from forcing the past to make sense—it comes from letting the lessons reveal themselves naturally.
In the dream, I saw how easy it is to get caught up in assumptions, stories, and what feels like unfinished business. Old trust issues, old heartbreak, old scarcity tactics—they all want a seat at the table. But I’m learning that none of it can sit there without my permission. That’s the shift. I can see the ghosts, hear the whispers, and still step out of their orbit.
It feels like a pause in the middle of motion. A lot of us in this energetic waiting room, a liminal space where we’re scanning, waiting, noticing, and trusting that the next chapter doesn’t need to be forced. There’s clarity emerging, but it’s subtle. There’s courage in choosing presence over replaying old stories. There’s freedom in taking the lessons without holding on to the longing.
The past becomes a map, not a magnet. I can carry the wisdom forward, let it inform my choices, and still step fully into what’s next.
There’s room for growth, expansion, connection, and noticing that what’s coming often has nothing to do with what I left behind. It’s about looking forward more than looking back, knowing that endings are just disguised beginnings, and trusting that the energy I release makes space for something aligned, unexpected, and expansive.
Mantra:
"I honor my past, I release my longing. I carry the wisdom, I walk forward."
