Love, Lessons, and the 9/9 Portal: Trusting the Signs Without Losing Yourself
My apologies for the delay in getting this month’s Tarotscope out! I was in Florida this past week after the loss of my aunt, and I wanted to give myself time to return home, ground, and be in the right energy before sitting down with these cards. Today also happens to be 9/9—a powerful portal day symbolizing completion, release, and new beginnings—and it feels like the perfect moment to finally share these messages with you!
August Reflection
Last month, I pulled 17: PERFECTION for the collective, supported by the 4 of Wands and 9 of Cups. These cards pointed to abundance, community, celebration, and destiny unfolding—but they also reminded us that to reach that joy, we’d have to navigate through our deepest fears and wounds first.
We talked about childhood pain, mental health struggles, and the need to face what upsets us the most in order to achieve wisdom and growth. With the Sun reversed, it showed how depression, old wounds, or heaviness within the home could cloud our ability to see light. The Ace of Cups reversed, The Star, and the 6 of Swords reversed all emphasized that internal work comes before or with external change.
August carried a karmic tone. It asked us to break away from cycles of pride, stubbornness, or unhealthy attachments, and to learn from past risks instead of repeating them. The oracle cards reminded us that honesty with ourselves is key, and that suppressing what wants to be released will only cause more pain.
And let me tell you, this energy definitely played out in my own life. In August, I connected with someone new romantically—someone I’d been receiving signs about in dreams and readings for over a year. Exactly one month later, we’re now preparing to meet in person, as we are long-distance. It feels surreal to experience the safety, joy, and security I’ve always longed for in love. He’s everything I’ve asked for, and our connection feels divinely orchestrated. We’re both readers, so we constantly notice synchronicities and spiritual confirmations about our bond.
But I’ll be honest…part of me has been scared to believe this is real. Especially after last year’s eerily similar failed attempt at finding “the one” in another state. When he briefly resurfaced earlier this year, it forced me to face the fact that I had completely misread those signs—and in the aftermath, I’ve built up walls of hyper-independence. That whole experience only added to the fear that I could be wrong again right now.
But I’m realizing maybe he wasn’t the one, but the person to trigger the necessary shift needed for me to receive the one. I did need better discernment, and that situation definitely woke me up. But the issue now isn’t the same.
I’m being discerning, yet not trusting. Open, yet fearful. It’s almost easier to expect the worst than to let myself hope again. But this isn’t the same guy. He’s consistent, genuine, vulnerable, and communicative with me. I realized I don’t feel the same anxiety I used to when dating, because he easily makes me feel secure, desired, and nurtured. August showed me: the only way this can go wrong is if I let old wounds block me from receiving what’s meant to be mine.
So, I’m choosing to surrender. To trust myself to handle whatever might come, to release fear, and to allow love to arrive. I’m learning to expect the best. To not just give, but to receive. That’s the work August asked of me, and maybe it did for you too.
As always, we’ll begin with a collective three-card pull that applies to everyone this month. Then, I’ll move into individual three-card pulls for each zodiac sign, available only to my paid subscribers. If you’re not already subscribed, it’s only $5 a month or $30 for the year!
It’ll be worth it, especially since I encourage you to read for your sun, moon, and rising signs to get the most complete picture of your month ahead!
Collective Reading for September
26—Gathering: North, White
“There is a reason for all the pain. As you gather knowledge from the infinite sea of consciousness and life experience, you begin to evolve. You fill the gourd of your spirit with knowledge, so that one day it can be emptied and you may begin to gather wisdom. Become one with all life, and consider the true importance of what you are gathering.”
September is the month for us to transform what we’ve reflected on and all the knowledge we’ve gained into lived wisdom. This is a season of integration—of truly practicing what’s been preached instead of continuing to solely focus on what we need to learn. Why practice if you’re just gonna be afraid to play the game? We are butterflies that have already evolved, and it’s time to break free from the chrysalis, dry our wings, and finally take flight!
Let’s dig a little deeper…
The Magician (sideways to the left), 10 of Cups, Ace of Pentacles reversed
Clarifiers: (top of deck) Three of Wands, Five of Swords reversed; (bottom of deck) Queen of Cups reversed, The Fool reversed, Two of Pentacles reversed
This month’s collective energy feels very much like a bridge between the past and the future. The Magician sideways shows that we’ve been sitting in-between—hesitant, maybe even blocked, from fully stepping into our power. The Ace of Pentacles reversed suggests missed opportunities, failed ventures, or investments that didn’t pan out the way we wanted. But right in the middle sits the 10 of Cups: our dreams, emotional fulfillment, family, love, and harmony.
This is a reminder that even if the path behind you is littered with disappointments, those experiences were lessons, not life sentences. Spirit is saying: As one door closes, another one opens. The wisdom you’ve gained is meant to help you move differently this time. Don’t let resentment, bitterness, or victimhood become the armor that keeps new opportunities away.
The Queen of Cups reversed and The Fool reversed warn against letting fear or emotional wounds hold you back. The Two of Pentacles reversed suggests that juggling the past and future at the same time will only keep you off balance. Instead, the Three of Wands at the top of the deck urges us to look forward and plan with vision. The Five of Swords reversed says it’s time to end the cycles of defensiveness and conflict, to release the urge to always be on guard. You don’t have to return to the past, but you might want to make amends with it so that the door can finally be fully closed.
Your life will open up in wonderful ways once YOU decide to open up.
Work on letting down your guard…with discernment. Take a chance again. Trust yourself enough to move differently. Don’t play small or let your past define your future. Open up to new people, new places, new ideas. Choose to see the beauty of the world again instead of numbing yourself with fear or insecurities. Nurture your life with optimism rather than pessimism this month.
